Your Book Fair is all about your school's students, so make them part of Fair preparation. The more involved they are in preparing for the arrival of your Fair, the more eager they will be to check out the new books when it opens.

  • Pass out reading badges. The principal can present reading badge to students who reach reading goals such as number of books, pages, or chapters. Create sashed so students can display their badges.
  • Ask art classes to make posters and signs. Place a twig frame around a sign and take a picture of your principal holding it. Place the photos around your school.
  • Ask media classes to tape sound effects. Have students make spooky sound effects to use at the Fair or during announcements. Spill uncooked rice onto a rimmed baking sheet to create rain.
  • Students can create their own commercials to us on a closed-circuit TV Read scripts or show the commercial on the Author Video to get students excited about the Book Fair.
