Clued into Reading Table Display
Lead your shoppers on a trail to a great story with this great table display.

Here's what you need:
- Card table
- 5 yds. of 45" wide bright yellow broadcloth
- 3–4 yds. of bright blue broadcloth
- Green, red, orange, and blue craft paint
- Oval sponge
- Black fabric marker
- Stuffed dog
- Sunglasses
- Magnifying glass
- Flashlight
- Fedora hat (real or faux one from party store)
- Scissors
Here's what you do:
- Cut bright yellow broadcloth in half and sew together to create a square tablecloth.
- Mark areas you would like to decorate with straight pins.
- Using craft paint, sponge thumbprints on tablecloth and let dry five minutes.
- Use patterns to draw Inspector Digit's body (PDF), face & feet (PDF), and arms & hands (PDF)with a black fabric marker.
- Cover table with yellow tablecloth.
- Place two medium size corrugated boxes on the back third of the table.
- Cover the boxes and tabletop with three to four yards of royal blue broadcloth, creating a half moon drape in the front.
- Secure drape in place with clothespins, if needed.
- Add a stuffed dog, preferably one with a good sniffer, like a bloodhound, sporting a pair of shades.
- Make your own Clued into Reading sign on poster board, insert into a table stand, and hang a fedora on the corner of the sign.
- Position books and finish off the table with a magnifying glass, flashlight, and
footprints (PDF) that lead up to the display.
