Newspaper Hats
This proven origami hat is easy to make, inexpensive, and as clever as you want it to be.
Cost: $0
Time: 5 to 15 minutes, depending on complexity

- Use a full newspaper page or go fancy with a sheet of 25 x 22-inch colored paper.

Napoleon
Basic hat worn sideways.

Peter Pan
Wear hat with points to front and back. Use a real feather or make a paper one, as shown. It fits nicely in a sidefold, or secure with tape or sticker.

Dutch Treat
With hat sideways, turn point up 2 inches on each side. Add color or decorations.

Jester Hat
With hat sideways, turn points down from top of hat (about 4 inches). Tape pom-poms to each point, a larger one on crown. Add color or decorations.

Gladiator
Fold side points to inside (2 inches, with small pleat on each side to "round" the
brow line). Make "brush" for top with strip of paper (12" x 5") using accordian pleat fold. Then bend in half to increase "brush" width; tape to hat. Add color or decorations.
