Teacher's Book Preview Tea Party


Advertise in the Teacher's Lounge
Create a display with a paper bag hat and books promoting the Book Fair and the Hats Off to Reading Teacher's Preview Tea. Include sign-up sheets for the Author Video (PDF) and the Students' Preview/Shopping schedules (PDF).

Tea Party
Invite teachers to a special Hats Off to Reading tea party to preview books after the Book Fair is set up. Download and personalize the Teacher Invitation (PDF Form) and print it onto colored paper.

To decorate use teapots, fancy teacups, flashy plates, or invite teachers to bring their favorite cups. Ask teachers to come "hatted:" a wild choice from the closet, a tame hat dressed up, a bag hat their class has made.

Provide themed refreshments — such as our Hats Off cake — and allow time for teachers to preview available books and fill out their Classroom Wish Lists. Entertain with Book Preview readings by volunteers — make it easy by using our Booktalk scripts.
