Create these soft sculptures by stuffing sturdy painter's coveralls with paper or rags. Close off the ankles and wrists and add a cardboard head.

Lady Liberty Download Lady Liberty's crowned head and torch (PDF), glue to cardboard. Drape in green sheets. Use stuffed green gloves for hands. Add socks and sandals. Download sign (PDF), glue to cardboard and place in hand.

Uncle Sam's Jacket Download Uncle Sam's head (PDF), glue to cardboard. Cut the front of a sweatshirt in half. Cut two triangle shapes from scraps of material used to make Uncle Sam's pants for the collar. Sew a seam on an angle on the front of the shirt. Cut two long rectangles for cuffs. Cut 1" circles from a whote box (a pizza box works well) to create the buttons. Color them with markers. Hot glue six buttons to the jacket and one on each cuff.

Uncle Sam's Striped Pants Use three yards of red and white striped fabric. Turn a pair of pants inside out and trace them for the pattern. Cut four pieces of fabric. Pin two pieces of fabric with ourside facing , and sew inseam. Open both pieces flat. Sew inseam with outside of fabric facing together. Sew outside leg seams. Turn under hem and waistband. Slide black boots onto his legs.
