Door, Gangplank, and Railings

The door becomes a hatch, thanks to brown Kraft paper. Create "boards" and wood-grain design with black, brown and orange markers.

The gangplank and pier are tan felt with planks drawn on with permanent markers. The outside end of the gangplank is cut to add realism to the board effect. Hint: First draw lines for boards, then add wood-grain detail.

Railings (thank you hardware store) flank the gangway. Each requires two boards (4– to 5– feet long) and four 3– to 4–foot deck posts. Nail together and stain.
