Sailing Through Books!
Classroom Read-A-Thon

Challenge your crew to a Classroom Read-A-Thon: Who can read the most pages? Set your page goal (250, 500, 1000, etc.) based on grade level, and determine a time span.

Communicate to teachers and students that the Read-A-Thon is on!

  • Download the Reading Log (PDF) for teachers to distribute to their students to get them involved.
  • Encourage teachers to read out loud to students every day and add these pages to their total.
  • Incorporate reading into family night events at your school.

Recognize and celebrate students' achievements!

  • Announce the names of students who are well-read readers. Have a brief but special ceremony at your Family Event to present them with a Reading Certificate. (PDF Form)
